Identity verification (KYC)
When it is required and what you will need.
Updated August 15, 2026
You verify your identity once. When it happens depends on your program:
- Classic and Horizon. Before your evaluation account converts to funded
- Zenith. You can buy and trade without it. Verification is needed once you become eligible for your first payout
What you will need
- A government issued photo ID: passport, national ID card, or driving licence
- Proof of address dated within the last three months: a utility bill, bank statement, or similar
- A device with a camera for the liveness check
- Your legal name as it appears on the account you want paid into
Where it happens
Payouts are processed through Rise, and verification is completed there, not with us. Setting up a Rise account is part of the process. It usually takes a few minutes.
Where Rise cannot serve your location, we will arrange your payout another way and verify you directly.
Rise may repeat checks later if your details change or an account is upgraded.
Only you can complete it
The person in the liveness check has to be the person on the documents, and the documents have to be yours. Verification cannot be completed by anyone else on your behalf.
Submitting documents belonging to another person closes every account you hold with us.
Names have to match
The name on your ID, your Lumen account, and the bank account receiving the payout all have to be the same person. A payout cannot be sent to an account in someone else's name, including a spouse or a business you own.
If your legal name has changed, tell us before verifying, not after it fails.
If verification fails
It is usually a photo quality problem, not a real rejection. Good light, no glare, all four corners of the document visible, and no cropping.
If it fails twice, message us instead of trying again. We can look at what specifically was rejected.
Your documents
Verification is handled by Rise and not stored casually by us. Details of what is held and for how long are in our privacy policy.
One identity per trader
Verification enforces one identity per trader, and our limit of five funded accounts per household. Copy trading and multiple accounts
