Two different things get called "real money" in this question, so here are both answers.
The account is simulated. Every Lumen Futures account you buy, evaluation and funded, is a simulated account trading live market data. The prices are real and the fills follow real market conditions, but the capital is not a brokerage account held in your name. You are trading against our risk parameters.
The payouts are not simulated. When you meet the payout conditions, we send you actual money at a 90% split. That part is as real as it gets.
Why it works this way
What you are buying is not the capital. It is the opportunity to prove you can trade it, and a contractual right to a share of what you produce.
What this means in practice
- Your profit target, drawdown, and contract limits are real constraints. Breaching one ends the account.
- Your withdrawals are real money that arrives in your bank or wallet.
Where real capital does come in
After five approved payouts on a funded account, you enter the review pool for a transition to a live account, where the capital is genuinely real. Reaching that benchmark places you in the pool. It does not guarantee an account. It is a separate program with its own rules, and it is the only part of Lumen that involves real capital.
Path to Live is not open yet, and no trader can reach the benchmark before 2027.
