Closing your account

How to close, and what happens to your data.

Updated August 9, 2026

You can close your Lumen account at any time by emailing support@lumenfutures.com from the address on the account.

What happens to your accounts

Trading accounts are deactivated and cannot be reopened. Anything paid for is not refunded, in line with our refund policy.

What happens to money you are owed

Unrequested profit is forfeited entirely when you request closure. Closing does not trigger a withdrawal.

An approved payout is still honoured after closure. So if you are eligible, request it first and close afterwards.

What happens to your data

Some records are deleted and some are not. We are legally required to keep transaction and identity verification records for a set period regardless of whether your account is open, which is a normal obligation for a US company handling payments.

What is kept, what is deleted, and for how long is set out in our privacy policy.

Coming back later

You are welcome to. You will need to buy a new account, and if your previous verification has expired you may need to verify again.

If you are leaving because something went wrong

Tell us what it was. We would rather hear it than not, and if it is something we can fix, we would rather fix it than lose you quietly.

Simply stopping instead

You do not have to formally close anything. Accounts close automatically after 7 days without a trade, and a one time fee means walking away costs you nothing further.
